10 perish in Masaka accident

At least 10 people are feared dead in a fatal motor accident at Kasijjagirwa along the Mbarara bypass in Masaka city.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident was caused by a speeding bus heading to western Uganda that tried to overtake a trailer registration number T433BBY/T877BWZ.
The trailer driver lost control and rammed into an oncoming commuter taxi registration number UBE 995C destined for Kampala from Mateete in Ssembabule district killing at least 10 people on spot.
Muhamad Nsubuga, the greater Masaka regional police spokesperson, says police is still on the ground gathering details of the dead and injured.
