The Kitagwenda District Chief Finance Officer Frank Bangirana has been interdicted.

According to David Lubuka, the Chief Administrative Officer Kamwenge Bangirana was interdicted after he failed to account for funds meant for various projects.

These include the Sh300 Million meant for the tarmacking of a one kilometer road in the town council.

Lubuka said that in February when an internal audit was conducted, more than Sh300 Million was found missing

“It’s very unfortunate that government workers fail to account for money and more especially public funds, ´he said

Lubuka  explained that  Bangirana failed to account for eight million shillings that he withdrew from the district account.

Part of the funds were meant for monitoring and sensitizing communities on the home improvement program and organizing district advocacy meetings under the district water and sanitation condition grant.

Sam Evidence Orishaba, the Kitagwenda Deputy Resident District Commissioner said the actions of Bangirana have denied residents access to social services.

“We must push for arrests and recovery of public funds when such unscrupulous individuals misuse funds for their individual gains ,” he said.

However when contacted for a comment about the matter, Bangirana opted not to comment.
