Govt to brief Parliament on bomb explosions

The government will on  Today Wednesday present a statement to Parliament on the two terror attacks that have left two people dead. 

On Saturday night, an explosion occurred at Digida Pork joint in Komamboga killing one person and leaving three people injured. 

On Monday evening, another explosion inside Swift Bus along the Kampala-Masaka Highway left one person dead.

On Tuesday, the Kasilo County MP Elijah Okupa raised a matter of procedure whether it is right for Parliament to adjourn to Wednesday without Ugandans receiving assurance from the government on what they are doing following the terror attacks.

He said that the government needs to move swiftly and provide information to the citizens.     

The Minister of Internal Affairs Gen David Muhoozi who was present in Parliament said he had come prepared with the statement but had not circulated it to Members of Parliament.    

 The Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah asked the Minister to present the statement on Wednesday
