Three people are nursing wounds after they were attacked by machete-wielding assailants in two separate incidents in Kabale district.
The first incident occurred at Birambo village, Birambo Parish, Maziba sub-county on Tuesday night at around 09:20 PM when Provia Muhirwe was attacked and cut several times.
According to Wilson Kabarebe, the victim’s husband, while Muhirwe was in the kitchen, her six-year boy child started dozing and she decided to take him to sleep. But on reaching the house, she found two men armed with machetes and a hoe.
Kabarebe said that the men demanded money or else she would lose her life. Kabarebe says that because it was raining heavily, Muhirwe’s noise screaming for help was not heard and the suspects cut her several times in the head.
