Police in Bukwo district in eastern Uganda have sealed off the office of the chief administrative officer and his residential home as investigations into his killings continues.
Robert Charles Ogwang the acting chief administrative officer Bukwo district was attacked by yet-to-be identified gun men on Friday night at 11pm in a place called Kryowa Mabanda, Bombo road near Banu petrol station.
His official vehicle in which he was killed was also set ablaze.
Aminis Kayondo, the district police commander Bukwo confirmed that the office the CAO and his residence have been sealed off.
“I recieved orders from Kampala to seal off the office of the CAO and his place of residence and deploy personnel to guard them,”he said.
Samuel Hashaka Mpimbaza, the resident district commisioner Bukwo said the death of the CAO was a shock since nobody knew how he left the district for Kampala.
“I was so shocked when I recieved a call from the minister of local government about the incident because I didn’t know that the deceased had left for Kampala,” he said.
Rose Chelangat, one of the residents in Bukwo said the death of the CAO by the gun will portray Bukwo as a bad district.
“Although he met his death in Kampala, but he died as the CAO for Bukwo and people may think it was planned from Bukwo, which is bad,” she said.
