The Uganda U-20 Women’s National team on Friday eliminated giants South Africa in the ongoing 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The two teams played a goalless draw in the return leg of the qualifiers at the Dobsonsville Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The draw means Uganda qualify for the 4th round on a 1-0 goal aggregate.
Uganda picked a 1-0 win in the first leg of the third round of the qualifiers played at the at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
Uganda will now face the winner between Zambia and Ghana in the fourth round of the qualifiers.
Ayubu Khalifa Kiyingi, Uganda coach said that he is happy to qualify for the next round.
According to the qualifiers’ setting, the best two teams will book tickets to represent Africa in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to take place in Costa Rica.
